Drukqs review

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 28 December 2006 12:39 (A review of Drukqs)

This is quite an original album and it gets better everytime you listen to it. I find the whole album to be one long continuous song.

Thirteenth Step review

Posted : 18 years, 1 month ago on 11 October 2006 08:47 (A review of Thirteenth Step)

Starts off slow out of the gate. Scattered thoughout the album, lush harmonies and acoustic guitars live happily between the occasional chunky guitar riff and thundering drum pattern. This record does not overpower the listener. The musicianship is impressive.

311 - Soundsystem

Posted : 18 years, 1 month ago on 11 October 2006 08:42 (A review of Soundsystem)

I believe Soundsystem and 311 have a sound all its own. It sounds like the fivesome has turned up guitarist Tim Mahoneyรขย€ย™s amp, returning to heavy metal and punk roots. I think album is the most rock album that the fivesome has made. Indeed, on Soundsystem, 311 add morsels of dominating hard rock influences to their signature sound soup, which is equal parts reggae, hip-hop, rock, and funk. This album nor this group fit into any genre or subgenre.
